Ann-Marie Ryan

Ann-Marie Ryan is a painter and printmaker. She lives and works near the North Norfolk Coast, in the east of England.
Her work, mostly in acrylics, is characterised by intense colour and texture, and is grounded in close observation of the shifting landscape around her studio in the tiny village of Fring.

Biography

Ann-Marie Ryan trained at Wimbledon School of Art, gaining a BA in Fine Art and MA in Printmaking.

In 1998 she relocated to north Norfolk to set up her studio in a tiny stone village near the heritage coast. Since then she has worked full-time painting and printmaking, and has exhibited in many prestigious galleries in major cities throughout the country including London, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Norwich, and at the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol.

In 2006 she undertook a month's residency at The Watch House, the former studio of celebrated 20th-century Scottish artist Joan Eardley, in Catterline, a small fishing village near Aberdeen.

Her paintings have been shown at major London Art Fairs and have been regularly selected for the Eastern Open. Her work also featured in the Norwich Castle Landscape 200 Exhibition organised by the East Anglia Art Foundation, selected by a panel from the Royal Academy of Arts, London.

Her works are in many corporate and private collections including: Bird & Bird, Convergys, Flextech TV/Telewest, Harper Collins, MCI Worldcom and Millennium Pharmaceuticals.
