The landscape
Ann Marie Ryan's work strongly reflects the landscape of North Norfolk: "This is a very special
landscape of rolling fields, quiet lanes and vast, lonely stretches of
beach and saltmarsh. I love its subtle beauty. It doesn't overwhelm
with grandeur but gently draws you in to experience its magic. However,
it's not a soft landscape – there is always an edginess,
particularly on the coast, which is one of my favourite places to draw
and paint or just linger and look, soaking up the atmosphere. The
saltmarshes are a wilderness area of creeks and jetties and boats..."
